HP-IL module 82160A

Touchpad 82200A

Touchpad 82200A and very many "keyboard overlays" for the various application pacs...

THE Bar code "Paper" Keyboard... allows the user to input data or perform operations via the wand. However the "paper" is NOT paper! It's a duPont product called "Tyvek..."

Thinkjet printer 2225B

32 column video interface 82163A with this device one can see the contents of the operating stack (Registers X, Y, Z, & T.) symultaneously. It also forces the TV to behave somewhat like the thermal printer as one can output data to the TV to preview before paper and time gets wasted...

Because the HP-41 series was on the market for such a long time, HP added modules to keep it "up-to-date" such as the following applications which are part of this offering:

HP Advantage Module

Some calculators introduced after the HP-41 had additional features. For example, the HP-15C had matrix math and the HP-16C had computer scientist features. To keep the HP-41 clearly at the top-of-the-line, HP released the Advantage Module which added improved mathematical functions including matrix support, computer science functions (bases, conversions etc.), and financial functions.

PPC Module

Richard Nelson orchestrated the production of the PPC ROM which included a huge number of routines. Features included more math functions, integration, curve fitting, complex math, date functions, I/O routines, block data functions, register manipulation of data features, and synthetic programming aids. The phonebook-sized manual with thousands of example problems, keystroke sequences, and suggestions dwarfed the calculator, let alone the tiny PPC ROM.

I will try to upload more pictures to my HP photo album As Soon As Possible...

Pictured on this page are the covers to two large books. The Blue book is a 149 page catalog of Contributing authors, program titles, and abstracts, that were written by "contributors" and it's publication date is November 1979. Included in this book are my own annotation...

The RED book is approximately 50 pages of blank forms and un-labeled keys, ports, and magnetic cards for the HP41C, all of which is dedicated to contributors who can fill in the blanks and maintain a collated stack of user instructions, and keystroke sequences... Page five shows an example of how to fill out a "program submittal form," and it is dated August 1, 1979.
